Bhagvan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary in Goa is situated at Molem town and is 28km from Ponda . This is the largest of the four protected wildlife sanctuary in Goa and covers an area of 240 sq km .

It is nestled on the foothills of the Sahyadri Range and the dense forest which you find here extends to Maharashtra and Karnataka as well.

The sanctuary is located on the eastern boundary of Goa and is 53 km from Panaji,the capital of Goa . Thus it is easily accessible both by rail and road.

Wildlife Sanctuaries in Goa - You can get vehicular access to the main park after seeking permission from Range Forest Officer whom you can find at Nature Education Center which is just 100m from the Molem National Park.

Best time to visit the park is in the early morning or late evenings. This sanctuary is in the route of NH 4A , the national highway connecting Ponda to Belgaum and thus interstate buses are also available . Regular train service also available from Ponda to Molem
