Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary is celebrated for its variety of flora and fauna. This sanctuary plays host to many animals and birds.
You would be thrilled to watch Leopards, Jungle Cats, Spotted Deer, Malayan Giant Squirrels, Cobras, Pythons and numerous other species of reptiles.
At this sanctuary, 200 classes of birds can be seen. This includes Indian Black Woodpecker, Paradise Fly Catcher, the Malabar Pied Hornbill, Fairy Blue Bird, Kingfishers, Drongo, Barbets, Wag tails and Great Indian Horn Bill.
When it started its journey in 1969, Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary was called Molem Game Sanctuary. Situated at Molem in Goa and spread over a sprawling area of 240 sq. kms, this sanctuary is Goa's biggest one.

It is best to visit this place between October and March. The main attraction of this place consists of some exotic species of birds and animals.
In fact, Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary, enriched in its wildlife, is considered a paradise for avid bird watchers.
Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary Tour - Apart from the exciting reserve of wildlife, the beautiful Dudhsagar falls(200m), the highest waterfall in Goa is easily accessible. The nature interpretation centre at Mollem instructs the tourists on the vegetation and the character of the forest.

The best time to visit the sanctuary is either early in the morning or late in the evening since those are the times when the wildlife is most active. October to March is the best season for visiting the park.
Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary Tour - The wide variety of animals found are Panther, Gaur, mouse deer, barking deer, spotted deer, porcupine, common langur, bonnet macaque, pangolin, slender loris, Malabar giant squirrel, civet, flying squirrel, tigers, leopard cat, sambar, wild boar, wild dog.
The varied species of snakes that are found here are pythons, kraits and vipers. A large number of non-poisonous snakes are also protected within this sanctuary.
